New Video on Turks and Caicos Released

Miss TCI Pageant Planned for July 2011

After an absence of two years, the Miss Turks and Caicos pageant is slated for July 2011 during the annual Provo Week celebrations. The TCI Tourist Board is trowing their weight behind the event that will help to brand and sell the Turks and Caicos Islands as a tourism destination.

Miss Universe
Miss Mexico, Jimena Navarrete, etched her name in the Miss Universe 2010 Crown, becoming the first Miss Universe from Mexico since 1991. Rumors of a curse on Mexican contestants over the years is finally put to rest.
The event was held at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino on Monday, August 23rd in Las Vegas. Yendi Phillipps, Miss Jamaica, was the runner up, followed by Miss Australia – Jesinta Campbell, Miss Ukraine – Ana Poslavska, and Miss Philippines – Venus Raj.
Rocker and reality-TV star Bret Michaels with his trademark bandana and NBC correspondent Natalie Morales hosted the event.

Davia Chambers was crowned Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2010 at the Queens Hall in Port of Spain. She will go on to represent Trinidad and Tobago in Miss World 2010 in Sanya, People’s Republic of China on October 30.
Davia was crowned the first ever Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) Top Model back in 2009.
